ISTEP Testing Schedule
6th grade will be testing on April 24 & 28 and May 1, 2, 3, and 4
7th grade will be testing on April 24, 25, 26, & 27 and May 3 & 4
8th grade will be testing on April 18, 19, 20, and 21

Middle School Spring Choir Concert Change
The Middle School Spring Choir Concert originally scheduled for Thursday, May 11th, has been changed to The Middle School AND High School Spring Choir Concert. The new date is Wednesday, May 10th, and the concert will feature all STOH choirs, as well as senior soloists. It will be held in the high school auditorium. Movie music will be presented.
Attention Parents/Guardian of Incoming Sixth Graders***
A Parent Orientation meeting will be held on Thursday, May 4th at 6:00 P.M. in the middle school cafeteria for parents and guardians of students who will be entering sixth grade next year. More information can be found here.

HMS Goal Statements for 2016-17
1. Students will achieve an increase of 3% in grade level proficiency on standardized assessment in literary text features by the end of the 2014-2015 school year.
2. Students will achieve grade level proficiency in critical thinking as measured by performance on 2-3 step problems on locally developed assessments by the end of the 2014-2015 school year.
3. Each year students will practice "Close Reading" strategies (specifically read, discuss, read, annotate, identify textual evidence) once a week in ESL, Discover, and Title I reading classes.
