Mrs. H. Mocabee

Mrs. Holly Mocabee

Mrs. Mocabee obtained a bachelors degree in Music Education from Valparaiso University where she studied voice lessons from Professor Ralph Klapis.  She participated in the Kantori choir singing as a Mezzo Soprano and was also involved in an a capella group, "Acabellas". 

Mrs. Mocabee was also involved in the collegiate chapter of MENC- Music Educators National Conference, which is now NAfME where she held many executive positions.  She was also a member of the woman's music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota where she held executive positions as well as choral chair.  She was also president of Kappa Delta Pi- National Educators Honor Society.

She has led the children's choir and adult choir at her home church and has performed with the Valparaiso Memorial Opera House in the musical "Chicago".

Mrs. Mocabee has taught in various schools throughout the region including: Clark MS in Hammond as a general music teacher, the Hammond Academy for the Performing Arts as a choral director and piano instructor and sponsored the HAPA student council, Portage High School as choral director and piano instructor.

Mrs. Mocabee then transferred to HMS in the fall of 2013 where she now teaches 7/8th grade Music Concepts, 6th grade choir, and half of the 7/8th grade choir.
